Black pixels become transparency
Sometimes the part you want to remove is not white, but black: a black box around a graphic, a dark export, an inverted scan, or white line art sitting on a black background.
RemoveWhite can switch to Remove Black mode and make those black or near-black pixels transparent. The lighter lines and shapes stay visible, while the dark background disappears.
RemoveWhite does not detect subjects. It removes pixels that are black or close to black.
Start low if your subject also contains dark details. Increase only until the black background disappears.
This works best when the useful part is lighter than the black or dark background.
Use an image with a black or near-black background. PNG, JPG, WebP and HEIC all work.
Choose Remove Black and adjust the Threshold slider to control which dark pixels become transparent.
Export as PNG or WebP. The black pixels are gone and the lighter shapes and lines remain.
Remove the black background and keep the white line work.
Remove black boxes around logos, icons and exported graphics.
Make dark UI exports or code screenshots transparent where the background is black.
Clean up scans or photos where the useful lines are light and the background is dark.
